How do I register for workshops and the conference?
Register at http://www.flcgroup.net/registration/ by 31 May 2018.
Take note that https://umconference.um.edu.my/FLC2018 is ONLY for credit card payments. You MUST register for the conference at http://www.flcgroup.net/registration/
Why have I not received a registration confirmation e-mail?
After completing your registration at http://www.flcgroup.net/registration/ you should have received e a confirmation e-mail.
Please email flc2018@um.edu.my if you have not received an email confirming your registration.
Please check your spam folder in case our email has been stored there.
Do I need a visa to travel to Malaysia?
Please check if you require a visa at http://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/en/entry-requirements-into-malaysia.html and ensure that you have obtained your visa prior to entering Malaysia.
Can I get a formal letter of acceptance for FLC2018?
Yes, fill in the form at http://www.flcgroup.net/visa-letter-request/

How do I get to the my accommodation from KLIA 1&2?
Take the KLIA express to KL Sentral (about 30-35 minutes)
Take a taxi:KLIA 1purchase the coupon at the International Arrival Hall (just after Customs) oe Domestic Arrival Hall (public area after Domestic Baggage Clearance); KLIA2 (at the Transportation Hub located at the Level 1 of the Gateway@klia2 building)

What is the currency in Malaysia?
Ringgit (RM) and sen. Rates fluctuate but USD1 is around RM3.90 to RM4.00. Transactions are generally in RM. Credits cards are accepted in most places. All transactions at FLC2018 from 9-11 July 2018 will be in RM and in cash only.
How do I get the conference programme?

Where is the location of the conference on 10-11 July 2018?
Paper presentation will be at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya, 50603 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Poster presentations will be at Dewan Mengkula at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, University of Malaya, 50603 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

How do I get to the pre-conference workshop and the conference?
Nearest LRT stations are Universiti and Kerinchi.
From the Universiti stop, you can take the rapidKL bus T789 to University Malaya (about a 10 -15 min ride). Get down at the university library and it’s a 5-10 minute walk to the venues https://www.um.edu.my/about-um/contact-us/campus-map.
Will I receive a certificate of appreciation/ participation?
A certificate of participation is provided as part of the fees for workshops.
However for the conference itself, you need to pay for the certificate when you register online.
I am a parallel paper presenter. Do I need to bring my own laptop?
No, as all rooms will be equipped with a desktop computer. You are advised to bring your own clicker/laser pointer if you want to use one
How long is my parallel paper presentation?
20 mins +10 for Q&A.
I am a poster presenter. What is the format for my poster?

Is there a dress code for the FLC2018 workshops and conference?
Yes. Avoid sleeveless dresses and tops, and no shorts. Skirts and dresses should extend down to the knee.
We suggest wearing comfortable shoes as there are no lifts in both the workshop and conference locations.
Will there be conference proceedings?
No, there will be an e-book of abstracts.

Will meals be served at the conference?
No, but food and drinks will be sold at designated areas during the conference.

What happens if I want to cancel my registration?
Email flc2018@um.edu.my by 15 June 2018.
Conference Cancellation Policy
Registrations cancelled before or on 15 June 2018 are eligible for an 50% refund of the amount paid.
Registrations cancelled after 15 June 2018 are not eligible for a refund.
